Switzerland and Lichtenstein

Today was another very sunny, warm day.  We went to the nearest town and bought a map of Switzerland and the Alps.

We spent the rest of the morning driving to Lake Constance - by back roads.  If you go on the motorway in Switzerland you have to buy a tax disk for 40 Swiss money (not Euro)ie about $70 NZ.  If you get caught without it, it is a 100 Swiss money fine (plus 40).  So since we'll only be here a couple of days we are motorway avoiding!!

Lake Constance was pretty.  We stopped for lunch at the waterside in a little town but the menu wasn't in English.  We were puzzling it out when the waitress said there was a set menu and I figured she said soup, salad, meat - which was pretty much right.  First a clear soup with bread, then a small green salad with pasta, then 2 pieces of beef (I hope) in gravy with something we think was fried potato noodles??? and peas and carrots.  Anyway pretty good - if rather a lot for lunch!

At the end of Lake Constance we turned inland and headed for the hills (Alps) with a detour through Lichtenstein - which is way smaller even than Luxembourg.  We were hoping to find a camp site there but ended up back in Switzerland - with views of the Lichtenstein mountains.
